Introduction to G.O.L.F.

The G.O.L.F. Swing
Sroke_Components.jpg

There is no one method of teaching the golf swing. This system of teaching is based on a Scientific approach and not just on "Feelings, Theories and Opinions". This program will provide you with the answers by way of scientific and irrefutable facts of the golf swing, which involves the two basic elements of geometry and physics. This program will provide you with the knowledge of the principles of the golf stroke

First and foremost I would like to pay tribute to the Late Homer Kelley, author of the book "The Golfing Machine". I give Mr Kelley full credit for my knowledge of the G.O.L.F. Stroke. I continue to teach and promote The Golfing Machine in every possible way as to me it is the Truth that lies behind playing great golf. For me personally it is not just being able to play good golf but to be able to help all golfers to enjoy this great game.

The following is an article that was written by Mrs Rosella M. (Sally) Kelley on the Life and Times of her late husband Mr Homer Kelley.

Many people may be surprised that Homer Kelley’s first love in sport was tennis, rather than golf. Growing up in Minnesota with the Minnehaha Falls State Park in his backyard, Homer learned to play tennis. He hung out with the local tennis pros and over the years became very proficient with the game.

He left Minnesota in 1929 with a friend, driving across the United States in a Model T with the goal to reach Seattle and get a job on a ship heading to Australia or New Zealand. His arrival in Tacoma, Washington was on October 29, 1929 which coincided with the stock market crash. As a result, they decided not to leave the country.

Geometry of the Circle (2-N-0/1)

The relationships in the golf stroke can be explained only by Geometry, because Geometry is the science of relationships. So learn Feel from Mechanics rather than Mechanics from Feel, "Alignment Golf" - Feel from Mechanics - dispenses with all dependence on "mandatory Positions". Alignment Golf simply smothers Position Golf, so translate your "position Procedures" into "Alignment Procedures" as soon as possible.

The relationships in the golf stroke can be explained only by Geometry, because Geometry is the science of relationships. Every thing in a circle is a straight line (Diameter, Radius, Tangent, Chord) except its circumference.

Extensor Action (6-B-1-D)

Keep your left arm straight by your right arm and at the same time increase your distance. Keeping the left arm straight back, down and through to the follow through position (post impact), where both arms are fully extended is a direct result of a steady effort to straighten the bent right arm throughout the stroke.

This stretches the left arm keeping the muscles relaxed and maintains a good structure of the left arm throughout the stroke so that there is no breakdown at any point.

Imagine that you have taken your address position and your left arm is a piece of rope, which is dropping vertically down under your left shoulder. Wrap the end of the rope around the grip end of the club and grasp it with your right hand.

Objects in a Linear collision cannot seperate at a speed greater than the speed of approach. The proportion of the seperation rate to the approach rate expresses the elasticity involved, and is called the Co-Efficient of Restitution.

Objects with a Linear collision cannot seperate at a speed greater than the speed of approach.

The proportion of the seperation rate to the approach rate expresses the elasticity involved, and is called the Co-Efficient of Restitution which is 80% for the better golf balls but drops below 70% at high speed.

The G.O.L.F. Swing
Machine_1l.jpg

We are going to build your golf stroke in three stages: Basic Motion, Acquired Motion and Total Motion. They are your keys to a lifetime of Better Golf.

We begin with understanding the three Primary Concepts - Hinge Action (Clubface Control), Angular Motion (Clubhead Control) and the Inclined Plane (Clubshaft Control).
